The Reky pot is a smooth handcrafted vessel named for the woman who made them. Featuring an abbreviated neck modified shape from the traditional pots found in Northern Nigeria, which typically feature hand carved motifs, the Reky is unadorned. A minimal yet textured offering.

This clay pot is a semi porous vessel which can be styled alone as a decorative piece or used as a planter.

Each pot is sculpted by hand using locally sourced clay made by the women themselves. After sculpting, the pots are smoothed down, then fired, first in an outdoor kiln and then for the second time with wood shavings in an open fire to blacken the pots. As a result of this process, each pot has its own unique design created by the wood shavings as they burn away.

We celebrate the artistry of the human hand and objects made by them. Variations in texture and shading are inherent to this artisanal process, creating unique characteristics in each vessel and object that gives them an individual identity. Every piece is one of a kind and we embrace this.
