5 Easy Ways to Practice Self-Care

This past year taught us just how important taking care of ourselves really is, both physically and emotionally. While long spa days and much-needed vacations are great, these aren’t necessarily the most sustainable forms of self-care. Luckily, there are plenty of simple yet meaningful ways to show yourself a little love in your everyday life. After all, it’s the small things that add up to make a big difference in the long run!

Are you ready to take your self-love rituals up a notch? Here are five easy ways to practice self-care on a daily basis.

Dedicate Time to Daily Relaxation

Life gets busy. With hectic work weeks, social obligations, and other daily responsibilities, it can seem nearly impossible to find time for yourself. However, carving out time into your schedule for self-care will only benefit you. Even if it’s only a few minutes at the end of the day, do something that helps you wind down and relax before bed. Not sure where to start? Why not set the mood with our Sabra Gold candle and start a journal entry.

Do Something Creative

Get your creative juices flowing! Embracing your creativity is a surefire way to get connected with yourself and relieve stress or anxiety. It gets you out of your own head and translates your feelings into something beautiful. No, you don’t have to be an artist to get creative. This can be as easy as cooking a new dinner recipe, dancing it out to your favorite song, or taking a few minutes during your workday to jot down some doodles. Call a Loved One

Nothing feeds the soul more than connecting with the people you care about most, but we can often let these connections slide underneath the obligations of our busy lives. Make calling your family and friends a priority. Set aside a few minutes a day to call or text someone you’re thinking about. Maybe you’ll laugh, cry, or have a simple conversation about your day. Either way, connecting with loved ones is a great way to practice daily self-care. Plus, it will make their day too!

Go for a Daily Walk

Whether it’s five minutes or five miles, going for a walk is an easy yet effective way to practice self-care on a daily basis. Instead of staying inside for your lunch break, throw on some good music or an audiobook and head out the door for an afternoon stroll. It calms your mind and gets you moving so you’re not stuffed up at your desk the whole day. Walking is great because it offers a form of exercise while also giving you time to relax your mind.

Create a Calming Space

You most likely spend a lot of time at home, so create an environment you feel good about. Consider redecorating your space with items that inspire you and remind you to slow down. One way to do this is by bringing some life into your home with house plants. The greenery will light up your living room, especially if you place them in a uniquely designed pot that fits your personal style. Also, make sure to stock up on candles so you’re always ready for some fresh scents and evening relaxation.
